In-Office 3D Mammography

Mammography is an extremely important part of the annual well-woman GYN care for women 40 and over. 3D mammography (tomosynthesis) is the current gold standard for screening mammograms.

Screening mammograms are used to look for breast abnormalities well before symptoms even appear. The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) recommends that every woman age 40 and over (or earlier if there is a family history of breast cancer) have a screening mammogram annually. Our physicians recognize that it is often inconvenient to make separate appointments for a GYN exam and then mammogram causing some women to skip their mammogram. To assist our patients in getting a full assessment of their health in one visit, we have incorporated a state-of-the-art mammography suite in our office.

In-office mammography is convenient, comfortable, provides continuity of care as it is a part of your permanent health record in our office, time-efficient and reliable. All of our mammograms are read by Radiologists with special training in Breast Imaging. Patients requiring diagnostic mammograms initially,
or after their screening mammogram is read, will be referred to a radiology practice with the expertise and equipment to do those advanced studies.

Our office is committed to providing the most comprehensive and advanced services for our patients, and the addition of in-office mammography is part of that commitment. Ask to include your mammogram when you call to schedule your annual exam. Insurance coverage for mammograms is the same for in-office as for outpatient radiology facilities.

These are comments from our patients after including mammography with their annual exam:

I was super pleased to be able to get my annual mammogram at my doctor’s office. The technician was very kind and respectful. It was convenient and quick and I felt totally comfortable. I have always loved this OB office and now I love it even more.  – Kari B

Everyone is very kind and professional. I love that now I can even get my Mammogram done at the office. They are a full-service doctor’s office and have women in mind with everything they do. – Anonymous

Dr. Roberts is the best. She is thoughtful, caring, compassionate and truly interested in your life. On top of that, she’s extremely smart and very informed on the gyn guidelines of today. I never have to wait, they are always respectful of their patient’s time. The new mammogram service is a real added bonus! – Anonymous
